Pre Teeth Whitening Instructions-
1. Please eat, brush and floss an hour before your appointment. You will need to wait 2 hours after whitening to eat.
2. Please drink as much water as possible 24 hours before your teeth whitening appointment.
Post Teeth Whitening Instructions-
Hydrate: Whitening dehydrates the teeth. Be sure to drink extra water for 24hrs following your appointment.
Avoid extremely hot or cold liquids: This changes the temp of your teeth. The temp change (hot and cold cycling) causes the teeth to expand and contract, allowing stains to penetrate your teeth. Drinking through a straw to reduce the amount of contact with your teeth can help with this.
Avoid foods and drinks that are acidic: Acidic foods & beverages open the pores of the tooth enamel allowing stains to easily penetrate your teeth. Use a straw to help eliminate contact with your teeth while drinking acidic beverages.
Cut back on drinking & smoking: Consuming alcoholic beverages & smoking can effect the results of teeth whitening. Alcoholic beverages may contain tannins that can stain the teeth, along with nicotine in tobacco. If you aren’t able to stop completely, try to do it in moderation or less frequently.
Use smudge-proof lipstick: Regular lip stick CAN stain teeth. Use smudge-proof lipstick to keep from getting on your teeth.
At home maintenance: Brush & floss regularly as advised by your dentist & don't skip you cleanings!
